Franz Beckenbauer

Franz Beckenbauer is a German football player born September 11, 1945 in Munich. He played the position of libero.

Franz Beckenbauer to the club begins the SC 1906 Munich. At 13, he joined the section hopes Bayern Munich, a club to which he remained faithful during most of his career. On June 6, 1964, he started in the first team of Bayern Munich against FC St. Pauli, as a winger on the left. Bernard Tapie hired him in September 1990 as coach of Olympique Marseille. He quickly leaves the club in 1991, replaced by Raymond Goethals.

Back at Bayern Munich, he won the championship as coach of Germany in 1994. This is the only one with Mario Zagallo, to win the World Cup as a player and as a coach. Franz Beckenbauer is currently president of Bayern Munich and the Organizing Committee for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
